It seems that any diet is believable nowadays. Some people believe that you can subsist on a diet of just air and be fine, so it might come as no surprise that Breakfast Reading has a page dedicated to the “Carrot Diet.” It’s more of a fast than anything, and it seems like people swear by it—after all, eating carrots does offer a host of health benefits. But there is one key flaw in the fast, and it all has to do with your skin’s hue.
If you eat too many carrots, will your skin turn orange? Stories of turning a tangerine tone seem like a joke, but they are grounded in reality. It is very much possible to see your skin color change due to excessive carrot consumption.
The science behind it is simple. It all starts with a carotenoid pigment which is rich in carrots and other orange fruits and vegetables. When you digest carrots, the small intestine is tasked with converting the beta-carotene into Vitamin A, but when you gorge on carrots, not all of the pigment is properly processed.
When this happens, the excess beta-carotene permeates skin. The most common place that this will show up is in the palms of the hands, the soles of the feet and the nose. The condition, however is harmless.
Many other yellow vegetables, as well as some green vegetables” can also change your tone. A similar disorder relates to an orange-yellow skin pigmentation which occurs as the result of consuming too many tomatoes.

به نظر میاد امروزه هر نوع رژیم غذایی باور کردنیه. بعضیا اعتقاد دارن که میشه با رژیم هوا زنده بمونیم و سالم هم باشیم. پس عجیب نیست که صبحانه ریدینگ بخوریم یه مطلب در مورد "رژیم هویج" بذاره. این رژیم بیشتر شبیه روزه هست و به نظر میاد خیلی از مردم روش قسم میخورن– هر چی باشه، خوردن هویج خاصیتهای زیادی برای سلامتی داره. این رژیم فقط یه مشکل اساسی داره و اونم مربوط به رنگ پوستتونه.
اگه خیلی زیاد هویج بخورین، رنگ پوستتون نارنجی میشه؟ داستانهایی که درباره نارنجی شدن پوست وجودداره جوک به نظر میان اما ریشه تو واقعیت دارن. خیلی احتمالش زیاده که بخاطر استفاده بیش از حد هویج رنگ پوستتون عوض شه.
دلیل علمیش ساده ست. همه چیز با رنگدانه کاروتنوئید شروع میشه که تو هویج و بقیه میوه ها و سبزیجات نارنجی به وفور پیدا میشه. وقتی هویج میخورین، روده کوچیک این وظیفه رو داره که بتاکاروتن رو به ویتامین آ تبدیل کنه. اما وقتی تو خوردن هویج زیاده روی میکنین، همه رنگدانه ها بدرستی فرآوری نمیشن.
وقتی این اتفاق میافته، بتاکاروتن اضافی به پوستتون نفوذ میکنه. بیشترین جایی که این اتفاق خودشو نشون میده کف دستها، کف پاها و بینیه. اما چیز خطرناکی نیست. خیلی سبزیهای زرد دیگه و بعضی سبزیهای سبز میتونن (ته)رنگ پوستتونو عوض کنن. یه اختلال مشابه مربوط به تجمع رنگدانه های نارنجی-زرد تو پوسته که در نتیجه مصرف بیش از حد گوجه فرنگی پیش میاد.
