Online, some people commented about a corridor decorated with red leave. They thought that it looked like a scene from a scary movie.
Some people did not like the 2017 decorations, either. They thought that they looked scary and not Christmas-y.

They thought that it conveyed feelings of horror and compared it with a scene from the horror film ’The Shining’. To others, it looked like the robes from the dystopian TV show ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’.
Last year, many people found Melania’s theme spooky and eerie rather than festive.
