Glass Bridge in China

سطح اول - آیلتس 5-4 (A2 - B1)

People build a bridge in China. The bridge has a glass bottom. It hangs 300 metres above the ground. People want to test the bridge. They hit the glass with sledgehammers.

An Israeli architect is behind this project. He says that the bridge is the largest glass bridge in the world.

Sledgehammer: پتک/ چکش سنگین

سطح دوم - آیلتس 6-5 (+B1- B2)

In China, people erected a bridge with a glass bottom and invited other people to hit it with sledgehammers to test its strength.

This really took some courage  because the bridge is 300 metres above the ground. However, these people were harnessed to the side of the bridge.

An Israeli architect is behind this project and he says that this bridge is the largest glass bridge in the world.

In China, people erected a glass bridge that may not be for the faint-hearted but others take the risk and tried to crack  the glass with sledgehammers. Being suspended  at a whopping 300 metres above the ground that definitely takes some guts.

People harnessed the courageous volunteers to the side of the bridge as a precaution, but none of them managed to break through the glass. Just to drive the point home, a 15-tonne SUV then drove over the glass.

Israeli Haim Dotan, the chief  architect behind the project, claims that the bridge is the largest of its kind in the world.
